Over the years, I thought about brewing my own beer but never got around to do so. My girlfriend bought me a starter kit for Christmas, and here I go.
Like with any hobby that I take to, I want to buy everything that I see. But as I see, and have been told, that wait to see what items you need, not just want.
I am partial to Porters and Stouts. Willoughby Brewing Company had a Vanilla Porter last year that blew my socks off...thus why my first purchase of an extract kit had to be where I wanted to achieve that flavor... (Still sitting in the bottles carbonating...used Brewer's Best Kit).
If anyone knows of a local brewing group in the Ashtabula area, please let me know. Note: I am in it for fun and entertainment...the more laid back the better.
