I'm about to bottle it up, accidentally doubled the amount of sodium metabisulfite in one of the gallons. Almost a full 8th of a teaspoon. How bad is that going to taste? Also, is soaking the bottles full of water with one crushed tablet in each enough to sterilize them? They're actually old mead bottles w the levered pop tops on them. That's all I can think to ask for rn. Thanks folks.

The sodium meta will settle, so just be careful when bottling to not suck up the bottom scum, as usual. If the bottles were clean when you set them to soaking, they'll be fine. Sanitizing is very important, but cleanliness is even more important.
