Hi All,

I just finished fermenting a Mild Ale and am planning on botteling today.

However, I just realized that I forgot to put the cap on the airlock for the entire fermentation! I have the airlock filled with vodka. Do you think this will be a contamination problem?

Thanks,

Jim

you'll be fine. just make sure you put the cap on next time so that the bubbles don't accidentally push the moveable part up and out of the airlock chamber.

Did you forget the tha actual cap or the "bubbler" inside?

I've forgot the bubbler, but never tha actual cap. I noticed right away, as there wasn't the usual bubbling and I'm a compulsive airlock watcher.

Are we talking a 3 peice air lock or a crazy srtaw looking one?
If the 3 piece, the lid or the inverted cup? If the cup, not the best situation but all is probably well. If the lid, No problem at all.

If a crazy straw one then no prob!
