Mystery Malt?!?!?!

I got a bunch of cheap malt from a guy who was getting out of brewing. Everything was marked except for one, it looks like chocolate malt but it also looks like black patent. Anyway to figure out what it is?

Chocolate malt is dark brown, black patent is black.

If it's slightly chocolatey/coffee flavored, then it's chocolate malt. If it's burnt and acrid, then it's black patent.
