Looking for a good fall beer to brew. I do BIAB and would probably brew middle of sept, and he ready to drink in mid oct. Still some nice weather in northern IL but temps can start crashing around then. Maybe something for the dads to sip in while kids trick or treating. Pipeline is a little thin now so not sure if a pumpkin ale would be too gimmicky for my only beer on tap. Any thoughts?

Personally, I like amber ales or Irish red ales in the fall beginning of winter...a nice American Wheat beer would also be good!

If you have temp control for fermentation I would consider a Vienna lager or even a Schwartzbier which would be nice during Halloween night.

Hope this helps!

A Dark Strong Belgian Ale could also be an option. I would also try a Baltic Porter/Oatmeal Porter or a maltier Red ale.

English brown ale is a good choice imo... Ambers and Irish/Scottish ales work well also.

Do up a batch of the famous raging red ale, or a Saison. I'm not into flavoring Saison's, but if you are into fruits and/or spices, it might be nice for a fall harvest tapping. Lots of good recipes out there.
