So, I've been growing hops for 4 years now. I've always had a good crop and I like to think I take good care of my plants.
Every year, I go on vacation for a week or two over the summer and I pay my neighbors son $40 to come over and water my hops once a day. Every year he's done a great job...until now.
He's started to get older now and he just started driving, so I'm assuming he took my $40 and put off watering until the last few days thinking he'd be fine.
Long story short...my hops are almost completely dead. There's leaves on the top 2-3' of the bine, but almost everything lower than that is dead. They were just starting to get hops too, which makes it worse.
I'm going to try and bring them back by watering a lot, but I highly doubt I'll get a crop t his year worth harvesting. Looks like I'll have to find better help for next year...
