I figure i would post here too since it relates. Anyone who knows me knows I'm the extract brewers biggest cheerleader. What i set out to do was two things. Move out of the kitchen and simplify my brew day. All grain guys cant have all the fun !

120v 2000w SS LWD element. Boils like a champ !

Cold out of the tap to boil was about 35min. Since we are only steeping grains i decided to do away with a controller . I used a 2 gang box with on/off switch and GFI outlet. Timer set to 30min, put in the steeping grains and flipped the switch. Got up to 170 in 15min. Flipped the switch and let it steep for the rest of the 30min. Its such a wonderful way to brew, best yet is i can run the cord through a window and brew outside in the summer.
