I'm planning on making a few brews for my wedding, and need to find something reasonably priced. I'm looking on my local brew supply store and see canned beer kits from Muntons. It says it comes with yeast but needs 2 lbs of DME or sugar to finish the batch. Is that really all I need to get? Then priming sugar?

Thanks guys!

You will be better off upping the DME to 3 pounds in my opinion.

Which type of Muntons are you planning to do? You can make a pretty solid 5 gallon batch of Hefeweizen with Muntons Wheat, 3 lbs. of wheat DME, and Wyeast 3068. No starter will be needed for this one, although others might still recommend it.

Beyond that, all you will need is priming sugar or carbonation drops.

I use Muntons all the time - this called a "Can and Kilo" kit - a can of hopped LME and a kilo of dme or sugar to make 5G. It'll make good beer, but I like to use dme over the sugar. It'll make a mildly hopped 4% ABV beer.
