Just got back from Costco with a 24 pack of BridgePort's Hop Czar (7.5%, 87 IBUs) for $23 (not including tax).
This works out to 90.78 IBUs per $. Or, conversely, 1.1 cents per IBU. (Assuming 12 ounce servings).
Then I got to wondering, I like big, hoppy brews, but I am also cheap.
What's the best IBU per Dollar value out there?
I understand that IBU listings are often subjective or even false, but it's still the best metric for this discussion.
If you think the IBUs listed by most high-hop beers are bunk, I'm still interested to hear what commercial beer gives you the most hop bang for your buck.
