I could have sworn there was some kind of famous/rarer beer that only used 2 row, but now I can't think of it. I thought it might have been Pliny but that's not it. Anyone know??

New Albion by Jack McAuliffe is a 2 row only brew that is often credited with launching the craft brew industry. Almost famous.
Yes, New Albion... 2-Row and Cascade... Most famous and popular SMaSH commercial beer.
As an aside, White Lab's sells the New Albion yeast under the name Old Sonoma now (seasonal).

Rogue makes a single malt ale, they use their own malt (they are their own maltsters) but I believe it is basically two row. http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/132/56758/
