messed up mash tun lid

After doing a little research I decided to insulate my mash tub lid with expanding foam(great stuff form Home Depot) What A mess this stuff is. I have never used the stuff for its actual application and I have never used it for insulating a mash tun.

Will this stiff be toxic to the mash? I can put some foam over it, I was anyways. Never had this much mess in my life.

It's not food safe for sure, and if I remember correctly it is open cell foam ie it will absorb liquid. I wouldn't use it.

Ended up scraping it out, just minimal stains on the lid. Not too bad and with styrofoam over it. I'am not to worried.
