Should I just cut out and rewire an outlet into the side of the box? This way I can get another short length of cord with a plug attached to the element and the whole thing becomes much more modular.

Should this outlet be CFGI or can it just be a standard 15 amp in this case (considering the whole box will be plugged into one in my kitchen).

I am a little worried about that ridge of the box and if a plate will fit over it (see below). Is there any other options using what's already there?

There are lots of options, from cheap to not cheap :)

Cheapest would be to get a Desktop PC power cord out of your closet and cut both ends off. Then hard wire the longer cord into your box. Not modular, but potentially free.

You could wire in a single outlet (don't use a gfci since you have that at the wall) http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003AUK944/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20 Then, just cut one end off that Desktop power cord and wire it to the pod, the other end has a nice clean plug on it.

Neutrik Powercon is probably the classiest option, but more expensive:

I would suggest rewiring it. I wouldn't bother with an outlet.

Suppose that is the easiest route. Just need a little longer cord afterall.

Good call on the computer wires. Those neutrik things are pretty neat, actually.

Thanks again, guys.
