March Pump Model 809 H S

Sooo....

I have these two pumps that I purchased a while back with every intention of building a brew system. I have done absolutely nothing but am now getting the project going. I am looking for suggestions for quick connect fittings and ball valves that will make the hose changing much easier

Also, does anyone know if these pumps will pull a draft...? I am just thinking logistically for mounting purposes...

Just any 1/2" SS Ball valve will do, Bargainfittings has cheap 3 piece ones...

And look into Camlock quick disconnects, they are a bit spendy but worth it. You can probably find Youtube videos about how they work.

These pumps are definitely not self-priming...

So if i siphon through the pump, will it maintain flow...???

Of course - it's a pump, after all
It just can't prime itself.

Mount it 6" or more below the dip tube pickup point, orient the pump head so the exit is higher than the inlet, and provide a way to vent the exit plumbing directly above the pump head, and gravity will flood the pump for you...

They're brass, but I've used the same ones for years with no problems. Others will chime in with with SS camlocks too.
