I just bought a Belgium beer kit from a store that went out of business. When I got home, I found that the can of Munton's LME was bulging. I'm not sure if I can use it. Can anyone give some input?

I know LME has a much shorter shelf life than DME, not sure why it would be bulging though unless it went through some extreme temperature changes. Does it have any printed dates on it maybe indicated when it was produced?

No. No dates or numbers that would indicate an expiration date.

Open that sucker up and see what happens. Maybe it was dented and someone tried to fix it half a$$ed?

Well. I called Munton's. they asked me to send pictures. I did. I've not heard back.

Munton's sent me a new can of malt. They exceeded my expectations.

No dice. I tossed if. Bulging = pressure.
