I brewed a California Common yesterday and had way more hop particulate in my wort post boil than usual. My recipe had 2 ounces of pellet hops total. I use a hop spider with the paint strainer bag as I have on the last four or five batches. No holes in the bag or anything.

Anybody else ever experience this? Ever notice much difference from one batch to the next?

Good point. It looked like hop gunk, but could have been hot or cold break. My process was the same as always, but I never had this much gunk when using a strainer. Then again, this was my seventh batch ever, so the last six batches are all I have to compare to.
