I need a simple yes/no

I bought a 1000ml KIMAX Kimble Beaker.

Can I put this on the stove to boil the water/wort?

Thanks.

Yeah you should be able to. KIMAX is the brand Kimble/Kontes sells borosilicate glass under, like PYREX, and is Class A.

EDIT: Class A doesn't really matter for your question, but it relates to the volumetric tolerance. But it is borosilicate glass, so should be safe to use.

Yes. I do it all the time. I even put them in a cold (but not freezing) water bath just 5 mins after boiling and I've never had any breakage.

By the way: I've only used a gas stove with my borosil/pyrex/kimble flasks. I'm not sure but I think an electric stove would put more stress on them.
