I have been thinking of taking the tops of a keggle im gonna use for a mash tun and converting the top to where a sparge system of some sort could be attached. Has anyone seen this or seen something about this, I cant find anything about making one

I've been thinking a lot about the same thing.

I don't think you want to cut the handles off. That would make it a pain to carry around.

At first I was thinking of some kind of PVC square I could just sit on the top. But it wouldn't be secure.

Now I'm thinking about crossed PVC to hold it on the rim and a hose that comes down around the middle of it that has some kind of sprayer head or spinning arm. I haven't figured out what I want to do there yet. But it would look something like this:

http://youtu.be/Q-jgmgbwvg4. (The build starts about the 5:30 mark)

There has to be a better way to do the spraying though.

Edit: I was looking at blickmann's (http://www.northernbrewer.com/shop/blichmann-autosparge). Now I'm thinking of offsetting the cross on the side and running a tube down from it with a float on it like the blickmann design but without the float control valve on it. That might work better for my long range recirculating plans.

You mean like this?

I have this on my custom built MT, works great!

I did make a change to this after the pic, I used a Camlock to attach the hose to the fitting that way I can remove the hose/float from the MT to make it easier to add grains/water and mash. Once I get it all nice and mixed in, I reinstall the hose and lock it up.

EDIT: This is where I got mine: http://www.williamsbrewing.com/SPARGE-FLOAT-BALL-ASSEMBLY-FOR-MASH-WATER-HEATER-P3720.aspx

Yes, I'm thinking a lot like that but with a PVC cross across the top of the keggle to hold it in place instead of drilling another hole in the wall of the keggle.
