So I happened across 2 kegs. One I'm making into a keggle. Is there anything wrong with using the other as a fermenter? Either cut a hole in the top or use it as is? What else could I do w it?

You can use them as fermentors without a problem. Just make sure you clean it well. I usually empty everything and then boil a small amount of water in it (without the center spear in) to loosen up all of the crud.

The center diptube will remove pretty easily so you can fill it and clean it...
