So I left my beer in the primary for 4 weeks and then kegged it. I Left it out of the fridge for another week during which I added 30psi of c02 every couple days to get a head start on my carbonation.

I know if I put it in the fridge the yeast will go dorment, but did my c02 pressure make the yeast go dorment? My thought was to let the yeast finish up while my carbonation got started.

i agree with above. time/lack of fermentable sugar made the yeast go dormant.

if CO2 pressure made yeast go dormant then there would never be any overcarbonated beer or bottle bombs.
