I'm about to rack a porter to a secondary (to free up a primary) and I'm wondering if it makes more sense to just go right to the keg and use the keg as the secondary. The porter has been in the primary for 2 weeks and I was going to give it another week before priming it with co2 (I like to give each batch 3 weeks). The only drawback to going to keg that I can think of is any sediment that may get carried over will stay with the keg, while racking to a secondary and then to a keg should eliminate nearly everything. On the other hand, not having to rack twice is the advantage of using the keg.
Are there any pluses/minuses that I'm missing?
