Is this a keg?

I was looking around at what some others use in the brewery and came across something that the page owner indicates is a keg. Anyone know what this really is? Would it hold pressure? Is this something that only exists in Europe? What's it called? I have e-mailed the page owner asking questions, but I got back a permanent failure message.

yes.

I bought a whole pile of gear off an old timer, and there was one of those in with everything else. I can only assume corny kegs were harder to find, back in the day. Mine has some sort of float inside, instead of a dip tube.

It's a pressure barrel. More common in Europe.
