I am reassembling my keezer lines after many years of no use. I have a couple of nitro taps that are brass-plated. I was going to give everything a soak in hot oxiclean before rinsing. Will this be a problem for the brass plating?

You sure they are plated?
I'd expect that the metal is brass.
Either way, I've had no issues using hot PBW on brass parts.
Thanks. This one appears to be plated, at least.

The problem with brass is it tarnishes. Some manufacturers (including Perlick and Micro Matic) plate up a faucet with chrome then top that with a "tarnish free brass" layer that's not actually brass to reduce the maintenance headache. The item shown could be a Micro Matic stout faucet done in "brass" over stainless steel.

I would not do a soak on a faucet of unknown resistance to "un-plating". Just clean by hand using something less aggressive...

Cheers!
