Another Irish Moss thread!
I saw some flats of Irish Moss at the nursery and it looked like good edging for my hop bed, so I got some.
Does anyone know how to harvest it? All the Irish Moss I've ever used comes in like pill form. I imagine there is a drying process but since I have it now growing, can I just clip it and toss it in the boil? Like fresh herbs?

I don't think it is the same thing. The Irish Moss used for clearing wort is actually a form of seaweed. The plant in the nursery is just moss and is not the same thing.

The plants you saw were likely Sagina subulata. Irish moss for brewing comes from the seaweed, Chondrus crispus. Both have the same common name. Unfortunately, the stuff you found won't do much for your beer.
