Finally got back to some label designing... comments, suggestions, feedback welcome...

Here is my Boston Molasses Disaster label, n russian imperial stout I brewed with molasses. Quite tasty...

maybe a drop shadow on the overlay to add a 3D dimension? maybe something with the font over than that I quite like it, simple but effective

+1 for the white on black. I think you'll be able to have a nicer transition b/w the black and the image. Looks good though.

I was also going to suggest white text on black. The black would make an nice transition to the photo, along with sort of appearing like oozing molasses.
