With an immersion chiller, you can't really do a whirlpool, can you?

You can to some degree. Swirl your immersion chiller around within your boil kettle. I do this every time and can cool down 5-6 gallons of wort in 10 mins. (of course this depends on the temperature of your ground water)

If you want to whirlpool for purposes of clearing up your wort before going into the fermenter, just give it a good stir after the wort is cooled with the chiller removed and let it sit for 15-30 minutes.

If you have a pump you can attach an arm to the chiller and whirlpool. You may want to increase the vertical gap at the bottom of the chiller to allow the trub to move to the center of the kettle and not get all gunked onto the chiller. It's a common method.
