Loyalty has some advantages.
I buy my ingredients at a LHBS. The shop is on the way to and from work, so I swing by once or twice a week. I don't always buy some thing, but I brew a lot, so I often buy something. When in the shop I try to be helpful to newbs, and if someone has a question that the staff guy cant answer (the owners can answer any question, really) and if I actually know the answer... I help out. Plus they have free beer on tap.
Well that loyalty was hugely rewarded Thursday. I was given 2 cans of Briess Bavarian Wheat, and 2lbs of Leaf NB hops, and 2 lbs of something called "wheat grain" mix. I was also given ingredients for a brown ale, that will be next weekends post.
The moral of the story support your local home brew shop. So now, despite my better instinct Im brewing today. The question, what in the heck am I brewing?
