No I've never had any problems but I just leave it in the primary for a couple of weeks, and then bottle. I have never had a bad, undrinkable batch, but I am figuring out a few things that greatly improve the brew (fermentation temps.very important) But it just seems like a waste of time with the ales I brew to mess with hydrometer readings for two or three days when I know they done. May be with a Imperial stout or some high gravity brew it would be different.
I have had brews take as long as 3.5 weeks to completely ferment. Are your readings changing on consecutive days or remaining the same? What was your OG and your current SG?
Yep, got one right now. TG 1.015 SG 1.020. It hit 1.020 in 48 hours and hasn't moved since. It's stuck hard & I've done all of the tricks to fix it. Nada.
