I've always used the table top (if it's hardy enough and not going to to scratch) similar to the bumper method...(I really, really F'd up a night stand in some German hotel once so...be careful!)

My favorite really is to use a deadbolt...just lock it with the door open and use the deadbolt as you're striking surface

I didn't see the method that consists of placing bottom edge of cap against hard edge of a table or counter with one hand, then firmly smacking down on bottle with other hand. This is a fun and smooth-looking method, though it can take a chunk out of said table or counter, so best reserved for use with picnic tables and work benches (first time I did it I took a small chunk out of a dorm desk).

Here's my favorite (girl in bikini using boob to open beer bottle - may be NSFW for some, which is why I did not embed it)

edit... Hmmm... I pasted the link in and it embedded the video anyway? I don't want the vid embedded since this is a work safe forum. Modify the url to see it.

I think that probably takes the cake as most favored way to open the beer if you don't have an opener!

I always use a lighter or something close in size.

Yeah, but now-a-days I've got one of these on my key ring :D

If I'm at a hotel room I find the door u-bar works good, as well as some door striker plates. Usually I have my leatherman on me so I'm good to go...

I usually have keys, or if not, have employed the hard edge of anything, like fence, table, decking, whatever. Just set the lip of the cap right on the edge of the "whatever" and smack the top for the bottle. The cap comes right of (if the table or deck isn't gouged instead!)

I've got a baseball cap from Point Brewery in Stevens Point, WI with an opener built into the brim. I always have a bottle opener.............

I won $20 last year for opening a beer with the zipper on my jacket.

I gave it right back when the guy successfully used a plastic ketchup bottle.

I can literally open a beer with just about anything. I have successfully opened a bottle with another bottle. I once opened two bottles at the same time with each other! (not recommended as much beer is wasted!) I won a bar bet once by opening a bottle with a plain 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of notebook paper! Bring me a bottle and an *anything* and I will open it.

My Bomber Bishop telemark bindings have an integrated cap opener in the heel support 8)
