It means each new entry adds to the previous total.

From OP:

Reminder: When you add the amount that you brewed, don't forget to add it to the previous amount that was brewed
Reminder: This is for BREWED beer in 2010---not 2009, not what you drank, not what your friend brewed, not what your Mom brewed, etc.

Aha! I did miss something. Thanks (too many homebrews in one sitting).

ETA: might as well give my totals then:

50 gal in 2010
819+50=869gal

10 gallons Liberty Cream Ale
5 gallons Simcoe Pale Ale
5 gallons American Light Ale
5 gallons Octane IPAA

25 gallons so far,

11353 + 25=
11378 gallons......

Brewed 5 gallons each of my local store's Nut Brown Ale (delish!) and their British Pale ale (conditioning now), and 2 gallons of Joe's Ancient Orange Mead. That makes 12 gallons, which brings the grand total to 12 gallons, as 1/3/10 is the date I popped my brewer cherry :)

Ha ha. I thought it was all about personal totals (lifetime + 2010). Here I was, thinking "Wow. These guys have brewed tens of thousands of gallons! Amazing!".

My bad. I'll try to read a bit more thoroughly next time :)
