I am about to purchase a chest freezer to jump into the lagger game. How many 6.5 gal carboys can fit into a 5 cu. ft. chest freezer? I'm looking to get at least two in at once so, I should I go to a 9 cu. ft.?

i have GE 7.2cuft and it just barely fits 2 6.5 carboys.

I got a kenmore 8.8cu ft chest freezer from sears and it fits two 6.5gal carboys or buckets on the floor. If you made a collar you might be able to fit a third.

But I'm guessing in a 5 cu ft freezer there is no way you'd fit more than one carboy. My suggestion is to take two lids from bucket fermentors or make cardboard circles the size of carboys to take to the store to make sure they fit before you buy (that's what I did).
