I use Yuri's method. If threre are 2 people then I share. If not the first glass is critically evaluated and the second is merely enjoyed.

I also would like to see some barleywines in smaller bottles, but that still hasn't stopped me yet... If I know I'm going to have a bomber of something big like a IIPA or RIS, I just make sure it's a night where I'm not going anywhere and have a couple hours to sit and sip it all night long.
