So, the other day I found hiding behind the ice tray section in my freezer a bag of hops. Specifically, A 1 lb bag of cascade hops from the 2007 harvest that may have come into my possession by a certain lottery dating back to October 2008. :(

Anyway, this bag has been sealed airtight, purged with CO2, but not vacuum packed, and has been in the freezer the entire time of my possession. How do hops hold up over extended periods of time like this?

ProMash has a calculator for this kind of thing.

I don't know what your starting alpha content was, or whether they have been stored like this for their entire life (meaning, even in the year before you had them) but this image should give you a general idea of the degradation.

I also don't know your freezer temp, so I put in 20*F as the temp.
