So I was reading an article in the 2012 May/June Zymurgy "American Aroma Hop Breeding". This new HBC-369 looks interesting based on the notes "complex, floral, earthy, citrus, fruity - tropical, blueberry" pretty much left everything out but pine right!? The blueberry sounded pretty tasty though and I was wondering, if I take the 2 hops that they crossed and use them both in a beer will I get a similar hop flavor/aroma? Or am I totally wrong by thinking so? Also in the article it says 50% Simcoe 25% Nugget...anyone make sense out of this?
Either way I may try the combo to test the results but was wondering if anyone had experience with comparing blending hops to the same ratio as they claim to breed new varieties to?
