I have a bazooka tube type of strainer for my brew pot. I am loosing a lot of wort due to clogging of the tube. I can scrape it of and know it with my stir stick but it still clogs and I loose ~1.5g per 10g batch. I am only doing small beers right now so only 2-3oz per 10g batch. Should I get a false bottom or just use a hop ball? My brew day today (first with pump) found my tube so caked with hop gunk that it was hard to remove it till it dried out.

I use the kettle screen from morebeer on my kettle. I use grain bags for the hops, or in your case I would use a hop spider, grain bags or hop sacks. I say one of those, cus I don't know your batch length. The grain bags are reusable, they seem to last forever. Hop sacks are disposable.
