Hey guys,
Wondering if there is a thread somewhere with recipes/tutorials on making different specialty malts from base malts. My closest LHBS is over an hour away, and right now, all I have is a sack of Great Western two-row, so I'm interested in trying my hand at modifying it. For instance, what would it take to make a couple different malts for an amber ale, and how would that taste?
I've seen on Basic Brewing Video, James made some crystal malt at home. I suppose you could make roasted grains as well.
What are the ones people have had most success with at home?
