I am sure I am not the first one to do this, but thought I would share. Only took about 10 minutes to make with scrap wood.
Have you ever wanted to make a bend in a copper "L" Grade pipe? That stuff is tough and you will kink it of you try to just bend it. If you are like me you dont want to go out and buy an expensive tool that you will use twice. Anneal the pipe until it is very hot (cherry red if you can get it that hot, I just use a propane torch) then quench in a bucket of cold water. It will bend quite easily after that. Copper is cold work hardened, so you may need to anneal it many times if you are making a bend that is more than 45°.
