I'm from the central valley in California and I want to start brewing my own beer. I have been researching for a while now but haven't been able to purchase any thing yet. I joined these forums to absorb all of your knowledge and ask for help when needed. I am really impressed with the site and the community so far! Hopefully I can get to brewing soon. I am just a n00b for now.

Welcome!

Get yourself some basic equipment and dive right in! If you've been doing the research, then you probably already know what you want. Just pick up the basics and get started. If you enjoy it (and you probably will), you can always buy more/better equipment later, but the "basic" kits available on most HBS websites and stores will be plenty to keep you going until you decide what toys (equipment) you really, really NEED
