Hey Guys,

I just started getting into home brewing a few weeks ago when I picked up a Mr. Beer kit in the states. Before you all groan I really had no idea what I was buying, it was on sale and I thought it'd be cool.

Now that I've had time to read this forum and a lot of other places on home brewing I realize this might not have been the best purchase. For now I'm going to brew the two kits that it came with and then purchase better equipment.

If anyone's in or around Toronto feel free to PM me.

Cheers,
silent1mezzo

Welcome, silent1mezzo! (curious about your screen name ;) )

Yes, many of us here in Southern Ontario, I'm in Cambridge. There is a wealth of information here on HBT--There is no doubt about that. If you're looking for more local oriented Q&A check out the SOB forum (http://www.areyouansob.com/index.php) or my club, GRAB (http://forum.grabahomebrew.com/index.php). Neither are anywhere near as active as HBT but will provide some additional answers for you.

Yes, feel free to PM if you're looking for more specific answers or if you have any questions.

Welcome, silent1mezzo! (curious about your screen name ;) )

A long long time ago I used the username silent1, my friend used mezzo (italian for half or middle). On one site I tried to join silent1 was taken so I merged the two and have been going by it ever since.

AFAIK I'm the only silent1mezzo out there so if you've ever seen it most likely it was me.

Thanks for the links!

Welcome indeed!

Glad to see another Southern Ontario brewer on the forum. I just wanted to second the SOBs as a great resource as well. We're a friendly bunch, not nearly as active, but may be able to answer questions on locally sourcing ingredients and equipment.

I would also suggest you check out http://www.homebrew-supplies.ca/ they are located in Brampton I believe and http://www.ontariobeerkegs.com/Default.asp if you opt to go the kegging route in the future.

If you have any questions feel free to drop me a line and welcome to the wonderful addiction of homebrew;)

Cheers,

Dutchcanuck
