Well, I bought some gelatin finings to try and clear up some mead and beer. I have never used this product. It sais to soak 1 tsp in cold water for an hour and then boil.

I am assuming it is about 1 cup of water, let stand for an hour and then boil it for about 5 minutes.

Is that the correct assumption????

Thanks, Cheers

When I use gelatin for beer, I use the stuff from a grocery store. I bring a cup of water to a boil, turn off heat and sprinkle in a pack while stirring with a spoon until it all dissolves. Usually takes about 5-10 minutes then pour into the beer and mix gently but thoroughly.

Its better to let the gelatin "bloom" in cool water first. Then I heat it to expand/hydrate further, but not to a boil. I don't want it totally dissolved, just in large moist clumps.
