So, spring break is a week away and a few of us first year ph.d students here in LA want to take a short trip (one night). We could go up to Santa Barbara and do a day of wine touring or go down to San Diego and do a day of brewery touring. I have a feeling San Diego might be the winner on this forum, but does anyone have any ideas about places to stay? I'm used to Portland and being able to get a cheap room at a McMenamins brew-hotel... anything like that in SD?
