Home brewing has been on my list of things to try for years. My son and I brewed a couple of partial mash kits we got from a great HBS in Louisville. The helpful attitude of the proprietress got us hooked. In the new year I switched to all grain 3 gallon batches and have a porter ready to drink, an amber ale aging in bottles, and a kolsch in the primary.

Reading this forum was very helpful for developing techniques. Obviously am still learning, but enjoying the journey.

Reading the hygrometer count thread this morning cracked me up, and pushed me over the edge to join in. I hope to continue to learn here, but also contribute to the community and fine friends here among like minded souls.
