Hello, my name is Jakub, I found this forum on google after searching for brewing beer at home. Thank you for a valuable source of information.
A few years ago I was visiting my friend in Norway, where he was brewing beer and I was just amazed by the final product. I would like to brew my own beer at first with a DIY kit and later will see, maybe some advanced solution like guys are using here.

I was studying electronics - automation. In my professional life, I'm benchmarking specialist and If you want, you can read some of my reviews of wine chillers and soon other stuff on a webpage where I'm a contributor.

Some reviews of single bottle wine chiller or 6-bottle wine chiller. Soon I will post best 12 bottle wine chiller review, it can be used as a solution for temp control as I read on this forum.

If you have any questions about electronics or similar topic, feel free to contact me.

Hello and welcome! My wife's grandmother was born in Žakarovce; I have learned much about the cooking in Slovakia, but not much about the beer.

I am looking forward to reading your posts as you learn, and hope that you are able to find the answers you are looking for.

Veselé Vianoce!

Welcome.. Where in Slovakia are you from? I have been Slovakia 3 times, to Bratislava, Kosice and Vranov nad Toplou. Beautiful county!
Hi, You should come to Trencin, we have a beautiful castle. Google Trencin castle ;-)

Thank you, our national food is brindzove halusky = potato dumplings with sheep cheese and bacon, really tasty!
I highly recommend to try Slovak beer, it's really tasty and we have some award-winning like Urpiner dark 11 from
EUROPEAN BEER STAR 2017 awarded gold. Also a lot of small breweries like Kaltenecker with beer specials. They also won silver in world beer awards.

Hello again! My wife makes her grandmother's Halušky all the time - it is her favourite meal! We do not have any byrzdny cheese here, so we use cottage cheese. Not quite as good, but close!

I really enjoy the Czech beers I have tried - I will see if I can find some from Slovakia. :mug:

Welcome from Southeast Michigan, on Lake Erie. Slovakia, eh. I identify as a Slovak. My grandfather came from Jaranebina, in the high Tatras. My second cousin, once removed, was Mike Strank. He was born in Jarabena, and came to Johnstown, Pennsylvania as a child. In this country there are not many things more patriotic than the Marine Corps Memorial at Arlington National Cemetery, outside Washington DC. It celebrates the raising of the USA flag at the WWII battle of Iwo Jima. Mike Strank was the sergeant in charge of the Marines who raised the flag at Iwo Jima that was celebrated in the movie Flags of Our Fathers. He was killed on Iwo Jima after they raised the flag.

I have to try using cottage cheese instead of bryndza cheese, I'm just curious to have it tastes. Thanks for a tip.

What a coincidence, I just read his story on Wikipedia, all mans which fallen during the WWII battle of Iwo Jima are Heroes.
All names of soldiers which raised the flag: https://www.mma-tx.org/About-Us/Iwo-Jima-Monument/
