Hello from Mississippi

Hey everyone, I've been lurking on this forum for a while now. I have 4 brews under my belt so far (all extract). Looking to break into all grain soon. I love the DIY nature of homebrewing and the flexibility of upgrading as you go.

Thanks guys. Glad to know I'm not alone down here. I'm not sure if its illegal, but that would explain the lack of homebrew stores around.

That is correct - though there are a couple of LHBS in Alabama, at least (the law hasn't been enforced in anything approaching recent memory, and there is a push to get that old law killed). Not that they are terribly local to me... I order from Austin Homebrew.

I'm an outlaw!!! Haha. Not sure if this is good but finding out that brewing is illegal makes me like it that much more.

On top of that, MS has a 5% alcohol limit on beer. I found this out at the Top of the Hops festival in Biloxi. There is a group trying to get laws changed to raise the limit.

Also, the American Homebrewers Association is trying to help make homebrewing legal in all states.
