Recipe:
2gallon batch
3# Briess wheat dme
.4oz aromatic malt (20min steep)
.3oz tettnang 60min
.1oz tettnang 5min
WL300 (full container added)

2 weeks primary. 1 week bottle.

Tasting it today. Came out great flavors. Smells like banana. The thing is it's really sweet. Not overwhelming but it's quite high. Why is it so sweet?

Do you know what your final gravity came to? 3 lbs of extract for a 2 gallon hefe sounds a bit high, so maybe the yeast didn't fully attenuate.

1.016 is a decently high gravity and will taste sweet if there's not sufficient hops to balance it. I put your recipe through some software and your OG and FG comes out exactly as you stated. Your IBUs using 4.5% tettnanger, which is an average AA% for that hop, comes out to 14.7 IBUS. This is a little low for a 6% beer. I'd go for 20-25 on the next batch.
