Have a Happy Fourth of July be safe and drink great beer I know I will be drinking some Bells Two Hearted while the majority of my friends drink Bud

Homebrewed Kolsch and Berlinerweisse are on the menu for tomorrow's BBQ. It'll be around 95°F so I'm looking forward to those! What's everyone else going to be drinking?

We live in an area that's always banned from fireworks. Every year, a couple neighbors don't think the ban applies to them. Every year, I hope they don't burn down the neighborhood.

I'm not sure what I want to drink tomorrow. I may break out my sampler paddle.

I've got some of my Maori IPa & some SA Lstitude 48 IPA. Maybe some of my light & dark hybrid lagers. Got the dough for my spent grain prezel burger buns on it's 1st rise as well. Pit bbq'd cheese burgers with those buns & Italian sausage! :rockin:

Those pretzel buns sound awesome!!! I got some brats from local butcher shop that makes em in house. Gonna have those along side a couple Heady Toppers I received in a trade and some of my American Amber also.

I wish people would not shoot guns straight up in a urban area. It's lucky bullets are very small and the world is very big. If they were bowling balls you'd here more about them.

The Declaration of Independence read by members of the US military. May God bless those that keep us free and may we bless God as free people!! [ame]http://youtu.be/izHm2AcLKIM[/ame]

I doubled the recipe from here;http://brooklynbrewshop.com/themash/recipe-spent-grain-pretzel-rolls/ But after making a double recipe today,I think it needs 3C of warm water rather than the normal 2C when doubled. The dough def needs to be softer. Using spent grains mixed with regular flour is the same as mixing rye flour;it makes a very firm dough. I see now you don't want that here. It keeps the dough from sticking to itself when shaped. The folds open up like lava flows while the rolls are rising. I got'em in the oven after the boil & a sprinkling of course mediteranian kosher salt. We'll see how they turn out. By the way,I used my Maori IPA in the boil. 1 bottle workes better than 1C,which is most of a bottle anyway. Smells good! *Here's a pic hot outta the oven;

I def gotta get a softer dough to keep the folds out of the dough balls. I find they need to be shaped like a well rounded mushroom cap.& rather large to get the right size when risen.
