Harris staybrite 8

[Bezel]

After looking and looking I have finally found Harris #8, $90 for a spool! Holy crap... I only need enough to solder in 5 ports. Any body found a cheaper or a smaller amount to buy. Anybody have a spool that they would be willing to sell a couple feet of it to me?

Buy the small kit of regular stay-brite. Lower silver content but works fine. $10-15

K, have seen it around but was not sure about the difference

The higher silver content gives a stronger bond and will fill joints that are slightly less well fit together.

In my experience the flux is more important than the solder, pretty much any silver bearing solder will do.

You can solder 14 connections with 2 of those little kits...
