Hello, I made some apple cider successfully last year (well, it tasted okay and didn't kill anyone) with the help of this forum. Thank you.
I currently have two 5-gallon glass carboys. That worked great for my primary to secondary batches. But this year instead of flavoring and carbonating the entire 5-gallons, I would like to break that up into maybe 1-gallon batches so I can experiment (add berry concentrate to one, more carbonation to another, etc). Can I use plastic milk 1-gallon jugs for this last racking before bottling? My plan was originally to just place each batch in a clean container, experiment as I desire, then bottle, but if I need to play with my hydrometer to ensure everything is okay, that takes time (days I presume). Just need some clarity on how to do this....
