Labyrinth

When Sir Dydymus and Ambrosius cross the Bog of Eternal Stench... I still laugh like a five year old. Ludo is my boy though.

Legend

The only Tom Cruise movie I will watch over and over. I definitely had a crush on Lili and Oona as a kid, but Blunder was my favorite character. When he posed as a goblin with the over-sized helmet and called the unicorn an ugly, one-horned mule... love it.

I have the Conan movies on DVD, good stuff. I want that sword with the goat skull on the haft! And Flesh Gordon was funny too, as are the clips I saw of Army Of Darkness...hail to the king baby!

Yeah, Flesh Gordon was the sexxxy version, but had it's moments. Like in this version, the doctor's name was Jerkov. So when Flesh yells at him to come on, he of course says " I'm Coming"! I thought it was funny at the time...:drunk::D We saw it while dating at a now gone drive-in if I remember right. Here's a YouTube clip;

And be careful of the penis fly traps!

I have most of the Mystery Science Theater 3000 collectors DVD sets. I am lucky that my wife absolutely loves the stuff.:mug:

Anyone ever watch Dave's Old Porn? It's MST3K for Porn. Can be funny.

As far as movies, I'd go with Monty Pythons Holy Grail, Weird Science, Pulp Fiction or 13th Warrior.

Ya, Oona was HOT! Decent story too, but I can't stand the music in Legend though. I'm not a fan of Tom Cruise, but I'll admit there are a couple of movies I thought he was very good in. I liked The Last Samurai & thought he was pretty good in Oblivion, Edge Of Tomorrow was good too. Actually I've been thinking of buying Edge Of Tomorrow on DVD.
Regards, GF.

I don't even remember specifically the music since it unfortunately has been years, but assuming it was 1985... I bet it was fantastic! Or, at least right on par for the year. I have not seen Edge of Tomorrow. I'm quite reluctant when it comes to his movies, someone usually has to get me drunk and have it readily available and claim it is the only thing left to watch.

Downloaded Flesh Gordon last night. Was going to watch, but it turns out it was the Italian version and there were no subtitles.

My daughter (20) wanted to watch with me, which may have been awkward, but hey, she's an adult.

So we watched an episode of "Inside Amy Shumer" instead. Not awkward at all... ;)

MST started my obsession with witty and sarcastic comments that makes my adult interactions very difficult at times. I just can't let a good sarcastic comment pass me by regardless of the setting or who's there.

Thanks MST!

Mystery Science Theater 3000 was awesome! It's been years since I've seen any of that.

They put a ton on Netflix.

FYI the MST3K guys have started a new business model in which they create MP3 files that you play along side DVDs you already own. It allows them to sell MST3K style humour without worrying about obtaining rights, so they are able to roast newer movies.

They call it Rifftrax.

Also FYI some enterprising people have synced the Rifftrax audio into some DVD movies and made them available for download at your favorite Internet Speakeasy.

Have Fun!

Moving beyond the campy stuff, I like Westworld. Great movie, Yul Brenner was a scarey SOB. "Nothing can go wrong".

I'm also a sucker for old Humphrey Bogart movies. Casablanca is great and infinitely quotable, and Treasure of Sierra Madre is great, but his best by far was African Queen. Many other good ones.

Pee Wee's Big Adventure and The Warriors are my favorite bad movies, but they're not guilty pleasures; I'll shout it from the rooftops. SLC Punk is a bit more of a guilty pleasure - I don't spread the word because I'm a bit embarrassed about my teenage punk phase so I feel anything with the name Punk has gotta be immature and self-important, but I still love the movie.

For me, it's mainly racing movies.
Grand Prix
Lemans
Funny Car Summer
Then of course, sci-fi;
First Men in the Moon
The Time Machine
The War of the Worlds
The Day The Earth Stood Still

What no Forbidden Planet?

Ok I'm gunna bite.
Shoot em up. Paul Giamatti and Clive Owen and yes it's god awful, but it's so fun.
And the movie I have to turn off because my wife gives me **** about watching it so much.... Friends with benefits.

I found Little Big Man & Logan's Run on DVD a couple months ago & have been watching them both a lot lately. I saw both movies as a kid & they're always entertaining.
Regards, GF.

Test, test

I love SLC punk! The only thing I'm embarrassed about is that it was Matthew Lillard. Til Schweiger on the other hand, all day. I wouldn't have had my teenage years any other way.

Quick story: Went home for xmas, grandmother found a picture of me from said punk phase. A picture I hadn't seen in 10+ years. I asked her why she cut the picture in half, and she explained she cut out the weird little girl sitting next to me. Ugh. The girl that would've been next to me in the picture is my (now) wife. It would've been an amazing find.

I have a few, probably more than a few.
Xanadu
Top Gun
Flash Gordon
Pete's Dragon
Annie (Original, not today's silly remake)
The NeverEnding Story
That Thing You Do

I think I've written enough. :D

Wow. I haven't thought of Pete's Dragon since I was a child, but I watched that like... every day before my nap I'm pretty sure. Thanks for the memory.

I still like Little Big Man myself. The real guy's name was Jack Crabtree, a half breed. His story was discounted by history since he couldn't prove it. The movie is free on YouTube in several parts.

I had to go repurchase OBWAT after reading this. I had it on ......vhs..... Lol. Nobody gets it when I say I'm a Dapper Dan Man. Got it coming in bluray today.
I ran across Cool Runnings that was a hit for me as well. Great call on the MST3K, was always a treat lAte night on VH1 in my youth

Big Trouble in Little China

is a good viewing, but if I want to get guilty I go for some pure cheezy viewing:

The Last Dragon!

it is so bad it is funny and great at the same time!

He's Bona Fide!

I like the kung fu movies. Last ones I've seen was Kung Fu Hustle and The Monkey King.
Well that was before I got rid of the tv and cable about 4 years ago.

Anybody else having problems with Italics not showing up?
Regards, GF.

EDIT: That seemingly blank space is "Italics." The text shows up in edit mode, but in the post, it's gone; even the italicized quotes from other posts are missing. Weird.

2nd EDIT: It seems to work just fine now; no idea why.

Air Force One is my watch movie..especially when Harrison Ford tells the terrorist to get off his plane...also Enemy of the state, makes you think how this could happen...

I've seen Top Gun so many times I can quote the movie backwards. My VHS cassette actually wore itself out to the point it "snowy"
