Ah man, checked on the 5gal batch today and found this along the side...

What to do...?

Do you think this is localized to just the top, could i transfer bottom 4gal and dump the rest.

How does it smell and taste at the moment?
What kind of batch is this (recipe details)?


It looks suspicious for mycoderma developing due to too much headspace. If it doesn't smell foul, you can rack underneath it (leaving the top layer behind), and treat with KMeta and keep in a fully-topped-up container.

Interesting... My Christmas spice mead looks like that on top in secondary but smells and tastes fine...
