So heres the deal...I am brewing a blueberry wheat Hefe. I put in 16oz. of puree in the primary and it smelled great. I transfered it to my secondary and lost the scent and taste. I was thinking of adding more or an extract, but i dont want to over do it. What do all you wise brewers think? wait it out and see what happens and make adjustments to the recipe if it falls short or take a risk?

Usually you want to add fruit to the secondary. When added in the primary all the fruit sugars get fermented away with the malt sugars, so you loose the fruitiness. I usually only leave them in there for a day or two just long enough to pick up the flavor but not long enought to ge the fermentation going that strong again.

Cheers
